Alpha Bank’s bleep app, the first mobile application in the Greek banking sector through
which a card can be issued and managed by mobile phone exclusively, continues to
build customer trust and receive awards for innovation.
Following just a seven-month presence in the Greek market, the bleep app has received
important awards, such as the Gold Award in the “Digital Innovation” category at the evolution awards and the “Team of the Year: Customer Service of the Year” (Large
Organisation Category) at the National Customer Service Awards. Recently, it was named
“Voted Product of the Year” in the “Banking prepaid card” category, at the national
customer survey conducted by IRI.
With Alpha Bank’s innovative application, daily transactions can be made easily, quickly and
flexibly, as the prepaid, reloadable bleep card can be issued, loaded and managed
through the bleep app.
The card can be issued in five minutes, without visiting a bank branch and is immediately
available for online purchases. It is then also sent to cardholders by post, for in-store
purchases.
The application is available for both Android and iOS and is accessible to all, regardless of
the bank they do business with.
With the bleep app, cards can be loaded using any card, issued by any bank. Bleep
cardholders can also check their card’s transactions and current balance as well as
make use of innovative functionalities, such as activating the card and receiving its PIN
by SMS as well as temporarily de-activating the card, separately for online and in-store
purchases.
Mr. Damianos Charalampidis, Executive General Manager – Chief Digital Officer and Retail
Banking Products of Alpha Bank, said: “The bleep app was developed as part of Alpha
Bank’s Digital Transformation Programme and is fully in line with our strategic goal
regarding the optimisation of Customer experience. Alpha Bank’s innovative solution has
been very successful in the Greek market, as an increasing number of modern consumers
recognise the key advantages that it provides and use it for their daily transactions”.
