Validity of EFQM Recognition is extended from 2 years to 3 years
As of the 1st July 2018 EFQM together with its National Partner Organisations have implemented a change extending the validity period of EFQM Committed to Excellence and Recognised for Excellence from 2 to 3 years. The validity is now aligned with the EFQM Global Excellence Index validity period of 3 years.
This change is retroactive e.g. it applies to all organisations that were recognised as off the 1st of January 2018.
EFQM, together with our Partners, saw number of benefits in this change. Furthermore, in number of countries, other recognitions/certifications have a validity of 3 years and this was putting high pressure on the decision to renew the EFQM Recognition.
The ultimate goal of assessment & recognition activities is to improve the organisations performance. An extended recognition period gives more time to develop and implement improvements between the assessments. It also keeps the cost and other resources associated with recognition lower for the applicant organisations.
We believe that this change will be well received by organisations dedicated to Excellence.
