Vijaya Govindan, Director, Global Sustain, UK

Vijaya heads Global Sustain operations in the UK. She has extensive experience in working with organisations seeking to establish and expand their business in the UK and US markets, specialising in non-profits, and for-profit companies with sustainability-related products and services.

Vijaya has a background in sustainability and finance gained at firms including JP Morgan and UBS. At UBS, she initiated and led the introduction of the firm’s Sustainable and Responsible Investing (SRI) capabilities in North America. She also founded the UBS SRI Roundtable, a global cross-divisional forum for SRI collaboration, and represented the firm within the UN Environment Programme Finance Initiative North American Task Force (UNEP FI NATF), among others.

Vijaya has spoken at numerous conferences and events including Responsible Property Investing, Public Employees Retirement Systems, the Public Funds Board Forum, the Swiss Business Council, UNEP FI and Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management. She has featured in media such as Institutional Investor.

Vijaya holds a BSc from the University of Bristol, where she was elected JCR President and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where she was founder and co-chair of Net Impact. She sits on the Booth Alumni Committee for the UK.
