CruiseINN: Celestyal Cruises Supports Student Entrepreneurship for The Second Time This Year

From 17 to October 21 the Celestyal Nefeli Hosts The Second Business Competition for Tourism and Enogastronomy

Celestyal Cruises, the only cruise operator based in the Greek islands and Cuba, continues its ongoing support for young people seeking careers in shipping and tourism with this year’s second CruiseINN, a startup incubator and “marathon” co-organized with ThinkBiz, the first official Student Entrepreneurship Association of the Athens University of Economics and Business. The second CruiseINN, with a focus on tourism and enogastronomy, will be held on the Celestyal Nefeli from 17-21 October. The competition comprises three themes: tourism, enogastronomy and technology; the enogastronomy competition is planned to coincide with the Celestyal Cruises themed cruises, “Stories of Greek Enogastronomy,” which takes place this autumn, through November.

Remaining true to its commitment to support CruiseINN twice in 2016, Celestyal Cruises will provide an opportunity for the event to double the number of participants, all of whom will present their business ideas on an idyllic Aegean cruise. Competitors will visit incredible Aegean destinations such as Mykonos, Kusadasi, Patmos, Rhodes, Heraklion and Santorini, where the contest winner will be announced at one of the island’s best-known wineries.

Some of the contributors to the second CruiseINN hosted by Celestyal Cruises are distinguished enogastronomy professionals who will serve as mentors: drawing on their own experience, they will actively assist the business groups participating in the competition develop their ideas. One of these mentors will be renowned chef Vassilis Kallidis, who will give the team valuable advice and “real-world” guidance.

Mentors will also explain successful practices with case studies, strategic initiatives and working models: one such model is the TasteLemnos platform, which provides visitors a taste of the island of Lemnos. TasteLemnos executives will be on board to share a taste of the wine and cheese of Lemnos, as well as some of its other specialties, with Celestyal Cruises passengers, and to discuss their platform with CruiseINN competitors.

Celestyal Cruises is an active contributor to CruiseINN and, as the company did during the first CruiseINN cruise, will award a cash prize of €3,500 to the winner of the contest and will provide ongoing support for ideas consistent with Celestyal Cruises’ successful involvement in the tourism industry. This is similar to the conclusion of the first CruiseINN, in May of this year, when Celestyal Cruises awarded €3,500 to the winner of the competition, Ryde Group; the company also embraced concepts presented by two other groups, Customer Hero and Vessel Hero, while the Customer Hero Team initiative has been implemented by the company, and team members were awarded 3-day cruises.

CruiseINN falls within the overall framework of Celestyal Cruises’ active, measureable support for Greek tourism, for the Greek economy and for a new generation of Greek entrepreneurs with a vision for a better future for Greece and for its tourism sector.
