EuroCharity to donate 25% of its 2007 CSR Directory revenues to charity

EuroCharity, the Athens-based, values-based owner and operator of Greece’s most comprehensive Corporate Social Responsibility Directory (, wishes to cordially invite all interested non-governmental, non-profit organisations based in Greece to step forward and submit their specific proposals in need of (co-)funding.

At the end of each fiscal year, December 31, EuroCharity donates 25% of its annual CSR Directory revenues to one or several non-governmental organisation(s) that help(s) solve a specific social need in the citizen sector. This is one of the pillars of our charter and forms an integral part of EuroCharity’s mission of making a world of difference in the citizen sector and business world by building bridges, both locally and globally.

This year, for the very first time, the company’s portal readers, members and friends will have the opportunity to choose which NGO they believe EuroCharity should fund or co-fund, through an electronic voting system that will be launched on (in both Greek and English) early next month.

The final selection of NGOs and voluntary groups will be made based on:

  1. The voting results of an electronic poll that will run on;
  2. The results of MEDA Communication S.A.’s A.S.B.I. Social Barometre 2007, Greece’s most comprehensive Awareness & Social Behaviour Index that monitors and researches how citizens perceive the work of voluntary and non-governmental organisations as well as CSR practices and programmges of corporations in this country. The largest of its kind in Greece, the A.S.B.I. Social Barometre is researched annually by Athens-based MEDA, a corporate member of EuroCharity; and
  3. The expert opinion of a five-member Committee that will be created especially for this purpose and will consist of two EuroCharity executives, one MEDA Communication executive, an experienced Greek journalist specialising in corporate social responsibility (CSR) as well as a leading Attorney-at-Law with extensive expertise of Greece’s citizen sector.

Organisations wishing to participate in this NGO selection procedure will need to be registered in EuroCharity’s CSR Directory Greece (, which is free of charge. Deadline for submissions: November 5, 2007 (NGOs will need to send a copy of their charter on or before this date). It should be noted that at the end of 2006, EuroCharity donated 25% of its annual membership revenues to “The Smile of the Child” children’s association, which is active in both Greece and Cyprus. Last year, this very well-organised voluntary group received a number of awards, including a prestigious one from the Hellenic Ministry of Health and Social Solidarity, in recognition of its praiseworthy work and the commitment of its volunteers to put a smile on the face of each abused, lost, abandoned or troubled child.

Finally, EuroCharity wishes to thank its current corporate members listed below, which, through their membership, help financially support Greece’s citizen sector throughout the year:
