The ergometrics programme “Come to Sports”, taking place for the first time in Greece, was launched in November 2006 and is supported by the Ergophysiology – Ergometrics Laboratory of the Athens University Department of Physical Education & Sports Science. Ergometric tests are being carried out in a specially designed mobile unit with advanced equipment by the University of Athens scientific personnel (ergophysiologists, PE instructors, dieticians). The programme includes speed, stamina, strength, lower limb sprinting, upper body strength and flexibility measurements along with bodymetrics specifications. Measurements assess children's physical condition, examine their dietary habits and form a complete overview of the youngsters' athletic skills and potential, according to the individual characteristics of each participant.

Supporting COSMOTE's successful initiative is Olympic weightlifting Champion and COSMOTE's Corporate Social Responsibility ambassador, Pyrros Dimas, who mentioned: «The role of the Olympic Champion is to be close to children and motivate them towards sports. The aim of this pioneering programme is to make sports a way of life. This is the message I would like to convey to the children and their parents with my participation in this programme».
